Programs

INFANT ROOM

Our Infant Program provides a warm, welcoming environment where your baby can grow. Our nurturing teachers are early childhood professionals focused on creating experiences and opportunities that invite exploration and support the fast and essential development occurring in a child’s first year. Our Program is designed explicitly to establish a home-like environment that encourages sensory-based learning. The focus is on cultivating the children’s growing need for independence, order, sensory exploration, movement, and language.

TODDLERS

The toddler program follows a scope and sequence that includes themes, colors, shapes, and Bible stories. Toddlerhood is a stage in which a child learns competence in many skills, mainly walking, climbing, and running. In addition, a toddler learns independence through hands-on activities. The curriculum, along with the teachers, offers toddler activities that will develop their fine and large motor skills, language skills, emotional and social development, and spiritual growth.

PRE-K2

Our two-year-olds will experience a loving and nurturing academic day focusing on their essential growth and development. We will use a variety of activities to help each child become more aware of the world God created for them. Experiences that encourage physical, social, emotional, and spiritual development are included under each theme topic. In our PK-2 class, teachers start the potty-training process and help children become more independent and prouder to become big boys/girls. We love seeing them like caterpillars at the beginning of the
school year who ultimately develop into beautiful butterflies that can start communicating their emotions and be more independent. At the same time, they start doing their first scrabbles and recognizing their letters and number

PRE-K3

Children at three years old are sensorial explorers, constantly building their knowledge of the world by absorbing every aspect of their environment, language, and culture. Our program meets the specific needs of this age group. It also covers the five key curriculum areas with
science, music, art, and physical education playing an essential part in daily activities. The focus of the Preschool Program is to prepare children for school and help them to develop independence through direct sensory and hands-on experiences as they develop a sense of self, self-motivation, and a love of learning.

PRE-K4

Riverside Christian School is a certified Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten (VPK) Provider. Our VPK program is FREE with a voucher for all four-year-olds. The voucher covers from 8:30 a.m. to noon. If you would like to extend your children’s hours, you may register them in our full-day program, which is from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The four-year-old program expands on the skills they developed in their first three years. In addition, a greater emphasis will be placed on letter recognition and sounds through the ACST curriculum. Children demonstrating readiness for reading will be encouraged to do so. The VPK program allows your child to perform better in school and throughout life with quality programs that include high literacy standards, accountability, appropriate curricula, substantial instruction periods, manageable class sizes, and qualified instructors. The students also develop their Math and reading skills before going to kindergarten.
